Commissioning

MCC Testing

At MCS we pride ourselves on carrying out thorough MCC Testing and Inspections
Standard Testing and Inspection Sheets are utilised and modified to suit the specific design as applied to the particular MCC

Visual inspections precede any further checks. Subsequent to visuals, MCS shall complete all manner of under and over voltage testing carefully noting relay or contactor drop out.

Functional testing now follows. Here, MCS will check over the system FDS and check interlocks, hardwired interfacing, backup design and failing to safe positions during the testing.

Where possible, MCS shall simulate the Control System, so far as possible and check on MCC responses to external influences

Documentation

A record of testing and test results shall be retained by MCS. Notes of test failings shall ensure the repair and subsequent successful re-testing of previously failed circuitry

Site Commissioning

When a MCC or a Control Panel is arriving at site then, MCS would check on the factory test sheets and ensure, on delivery, that the failed systems or circuitry had been addressed and brought to the intended functional design.

At site, all cable schedules would be confirmed as those to which the Electrical Installation had been installed.

Electrical cabling, cable tray and cable tray supports shall be visually checked and compared to construction drawings

All cabling shall be checked for correct segregation between circuits

Subsequent to this, all cabling would be tested for continuity, polarity, insulation resistance, FO checking and the like.

Cabling and Instrumentation shall be tested for correct connections and functionality

Site Documentation

Site Documentation shall include all MCC / Control Panel tests and test results. It will also include all site commissioning checks and shall be a critical set of documentation to be carried through to system functional checking
